German International School Boston is a bilingual independent school serving students from preschool to grade 12. Our new Lower Campus is at 46 Belmont Street in Watertown, were we offer a play-based German immersion early childhood education program and house grades 1-3.

Grades 4-12 are across the Charles River at 57 Holton Street in Boston, where they continue with a rigorous and engaging German curriculum. Our graduates earn both a high school diploma and the prestigious German International Abitur, allowing access to universities throughout Europe. As a global community, we strive to instill a love of learning and a sense of responsibility to prepare students for shaping our common future.

GISB is committed to offering a bilingual education to as many students as possible, with or without prior German language experience. Children entering preschool, pre-k or kindergarten do not need to speak or understand any German. Students entering grades 1 – 5 who have little to no German language skills can apply for our Fast Track program, an accelerated language program for motivated students.
